There are parades—and then there are once-in-a-century celebrations. On May 1, viewers of the Celebrate America on Route 66 Parade were treated to one of the most exciting, nostalgic, and star-studded events ever to roll down the Mother Road.
Not just a parade – it was a living, moving museum of America’s most famous highway.
Rolling Tribute to 100 Years of Route 66
A variety of classic vehicles—each representing an era, a story, and a memory from the last century—cruised along Missouri’s stretch of the Mother Road. Limited to model years 1926-1985–the years that Route 66 was a commissioned U.S. highway–the collection included everything from early 1920s touring cars to roaring hot rods, polished chrome cruisers, motorcycles, emergency vehicles, and the iconic cars that defined Route 66 road trips for generations.

Red, White & Bridge Bash Car Show
An extraordinary collection of classic, 1926-1985 automobiles lined the length of Commercial Street, creating a living timeline of American transportation. From early touring cars and mid-century cruisers to chromed-out muscle cars and vintage trucks, these vehicles beautifully echoed the theme of the weekend:
The story of how Americans traveled, explored, worked, and dreamed across two and a half centuries.
These classic cars serve not only as a nod to Route 66, but as a tribute to the people who made the road—and the nation—what it is today.
